History

Crossfields of Arnside built yachts and Morecambe Bay Prawners. The Sailing Club own Severn a yacht built by Crossfields in 1912. The purchase was funded by a Heritage Lottery grant. Both Arthur Ransome’s Swallow and Coch-y-bonddhu were built in the village.
